Chanel Grenaway

Chanel Grenaway has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, and brings a range of expertise from working with Foundations, multi-service non-profit organizations, and within the public sector specifically through a diversity, equity and inclusion lens. Chanel’s work is focused on equity, intersectionality, amplifying the voices and experiences of underrepresented groups and supporting the conditions for meaningful participatory engagement.

In her current practice she offers coaching, training and facilitates conversations aimed at increasing understanding of anti Black racism, systemic racism and intersectionality. She advises leaders and teams on how they can integrate equity based approaches in their programs, policies and services. Chanel played a pivotal role in the research and planning phase of a Gender Analytics Online Program which was launched by the Institute for Gender and the Economy in the fall of 2020. She is currently supporting organizations to improve their equity and inclusion outcomes through equity assessments, training and knowledge building, community engagement, and action planning. When she is not working on disrupting systemic racism, she is likely at the dojo working towards her second degree black belt.

Foteini Agrafioti

Dr. Agrafioti is the Chief Science Officer at RBC and Head of Borealis AI. She is responsible for RBC’s intellectual property portfolio in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning. She serves as co-chair of the Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence, advising the federal government on how to build on Canada’s strengths and global leadership in AI.

Prior to joining Borealis AI, Foteini founded and served as Chief Technology Officer at Nymi, a biometrics security company and maker of the Nymi wristband. Foteini is the inventor of HeartID, the first biometric technology to authenticate users based on their unique cardiac rhythms. She is a TED speaker and serves on the editorial review boards of several scientific journals. Foteini was named “Inventor of the Year” in 2012 at the University of Toronto where she received a Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering and was named one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40” for 2017.

Huda Idrees

Huda Idrees is the Founder and CEO of Dot Health, a real-time personal health data platform. With a background in engineering from the University of Toronto and a prolific career at some of Toronto's best known startups including Wattpad, Wave, and Wealthsimple. Her latest venture is transforming the way people access and control their own health information for good. Huda's work has been featured in a number of media outlets including Vogue, The Globe and Mail, CBC, Toronto Life, Toronto Star, Metro Morning, The Current, and The Walrus. She has won numerous awards including Excellence Canada's Board of Governors’ Special Recognition of Achievement Award in 2019, YWCA Toronto's Young Woman of Distinction in 2019, Bay Street Bull's 30x30 in 2018, University of Toronto Engineering Early Career Award in 2018, amongst others.

Huda has helped advise the Canadian Federal and Provincial Health Ministries on strategy, and in addition to the Board of Directors for TGC, also serves on the boards of Ontario MD and the Sinai Health System.

Saira Muzaffar

Saira Muzaffar is one of the founding members of TGC. They currently serve as the Director of Marketing and Communications for BTY Group, a cost and risk management advisory services firm for institutional, real estate and infrastructure projects. Saira leads BTY’s research, strategy, content and bid development, social media and corporate communications. Saira has also served as Board Chair for the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans (LGBT) Youth Line, an organization that provides services for youth, by youth, focusing on leadership opportunities, outreach, confidential peer support and referrals by telephone and online.

In 2021, Saira was inducted in Urban Land Institute’s WLI Championship Team, selected by a panel of their peers based on a record of exceptional leadership in the real estate development and land use disciplines; dedication to, and success at, building thriving communities across the Toronto region; and capacity to inspire others in the industry.

Saadia Muzaffar

Saadia Muzaffar is the founder and President of TGC.

She is a tech entrepreneur, author, and passionate advocate of responsible innovation, decent work for everyone, and prosperity of immigrant talent in STEM. Her research focuses on the nexus of innovation economies and the future of workers within them.

She is also the co-founder of Tech Reset Canada, a group of business people, technologists, and other residents advocating for innovation that is focused on the public good. In 2017, she was featured in Canada 150 Women, a book about 150 of the most influential and groundbreaking women in Canada. She is honoured to serve on the board of Women’s Shelters Canada and the advisory board for the University of Guelph’s Centre for Advancing Responsible and Ethical Artificial Intelligence (CARE-AI).
